Fielder for Kinsler blockbuster is agreed to

The Rangers and Tigers have agreed on a blockbuster deal to send Prince Fielder to Texas for Ian Kinsler, pending CBSSports.com has learned.

There could be another player involved in the trade as potential well, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Physicals would be needed if the trade id completed.

The Rangers made a play for Fielder when he was a free agent a couple years ago before the Tigers signed him for $214 million over nine years.

Trading Kinsler would open second base for Jurickson Profar. Texas has been looking for added punch to its lineup.

The Tigers had been floating Max Scherzer as a trade possibility. But a deal of Fielder could possibly free up extra cash to try to sign Scherzer long-term.

I cannot believe a team would take on Fielder's deal, insane. Still over a $100M difference even minus Kinsler's salary. Price looked horrible in the playoffs, last year. I think he was going through a divorce as well.

Great deal for DET. That's gonna be a nightmare contract for TEX. kinsler isn't great, but much better than Fielder.

I suppose that means that Texas will keep both Andrus and Profar. Hardy becomes more attractive to teams needing a SS like the Cards and Mets.

Prince has a legit track record. I suspect he puts up monster numbers in Arlington. Beltre, Andrus, Profar and Prince. Not a bad infield.

Maybe for a year or so. Prince can't play defense and his numbers went down. Great deal for Detroit, should free up money for Scherzer and move Miggy to 1rst.

I think if my math is right Kinsler is still owed 62M and Prince 164M.
